Ambulatory Cancer Electronic Medical Record Extraction Standard
The Ambulatory Cancer EMR extraction standard (Cancer aEMR Extract) documents the requirements for submitting Activity Level Reporting (ALR) data.
ALR is the basic set of data elements required to produce the quality, cost and performance indicators for the Ontario cancer system, namely patient level activity focused on radiation, systemic therapy (chemotherapy) services and outpatient oncology clinic visits.
This standard will help provide future guidance to hospitals and Cancer Care Ontario with activity- level reporting by improving data quality and reducing submission timelines and inefficiencies. It addresses challenges ranging from collecting and reporting data from multiple sources to submitting data to Cancer Care Ontario in various formats.
Scope
The Cancer aEMR Extract standard supports the transmission of ALR data derived from patient-level records within the cancer system pertaining to radiation treatment, systemic therapy (chemotherapy) services and outpatient oncology clinic visits.
